About this report
This is our 13th sustainability report, which focuses on the issues identified by our key stakeholders as the most material to our business. It is structured around the six positive outcomes we are seeking to achieve from our 2020 strategy.
The report covers the worldwide operations of Carillion plc during the 2012 calendar year.
We have included some activities undertaken in our Joint Ventures, depending on our level of influence on their operations and the size of our shareholdings in them. In cases where Carillion employees are seconded to a Joint Venture, we include our seconded employees in the data but exclude the Joint Venture’s operations.
In reporting our performance, we continue to be guided by the Global Reporting Initiative’s (GRI) G3 Sustainability Reporting Guidelines. We consider this report to be aligned with GRI level B+. See our GRI index.
Bureau Veritas has independently verified our performance against specific sustainability targets, factual statements and performance data related to the targets within the content of this report. See Assurance.
Bureau Veritas has also carried out a materiality review to ensure our sustainability priorities reflect business risks and remain relevant. This involved analysis of our issue selection methods and how we consult, engage and respond to our stakeholders. See Key issues.
This report, alongside our sustainability strategy and policies, is available to all via our website.
